CLONDAW BUSTER (IRE)
BERKSHIRE ex. VIOLETS GALE 2021 bay gelding
A striking, athletic gelding with plenty of presence, Clondaw Buster immediately caught the eye at the Tattersalls Cheltenham January Sale, where he impressed Ben enough that he simply couldn’t leave him behind. Although a Summer on his back looks well needed he will only improve and we cant wait to see what some sun on his back will do.
Standing at 16.1 1/2hh, he is a smart, well-balanced individual with a great attitude and an excellent technique over his obstacles. A natural jumper, he looks every inch the progressive National Hunt prospect.
Clondaw Buster made a very promising debut when finishing second in a strong division of the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Dromahane Point-to-Point Course in late December. Always travelling prominently, he moved into the lead five fences from home before being headed by a well-regarded winner approaching the third last. Importantly, the pair pulled well clear of the remainder of the field, highlighting the strength of the form.
He comes from a solid National Hunt family that has already produced multiple winners. With his size, athleticism and straightforward nature, Clondaw Buster looks an exciting prospect who should develop into a smart performer and shed his maiden tag in due course.
