On Saturday 8th July, we'll be taking on the Racing Welfare Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising vital funds for Racing Welfare and in support of all of racing's people.
As well as being home to both Malton and Middleham racing centres and nine of the UKs racecourses, Yorkshire is also the home of the famous three peaks of Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside. Starting and finishing in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, the challenge is 25 miles long and includes over 1,500 metres of ascent. Racing Welfare is a registered charity supporting the workforce of British horseracing. They offer professional guidance and practical help to all of racings people including stud, stable, and racecourse staff, alongside those working in associated roles whose dedication makes our sport possible. By providing support for mental and physical health, money matters, addiction, housing, careers and more, Racing Welfare's work aims to help people, from recruitment to retirement, to thrive in day-to-day life. Please support the Ben Pauling Racing Team and Racing Welfare by donating towards our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Thank you. Twig and Beau Morgan win the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter for Beau's mother, Mrs Georgia Morgan. Enormous congratulations to the Morgan family, what a star Twig is! Photo: Nigel Kirby As it’s Racing Staff Week we should probably give these superstars a bit of a shout out!
We are incredibly proud of our team and the passion they have for the horses and the sport itself. It’s not an easy job with some early starts and some long days. Come rain, hail or shine this team are always here putting the horses first and for that we endlessly grateful. All that said there’s no better feeling than celebrating a win with this crew!! Thank you Team #BPR!! It’s all smiles in the winners enclosure at Southwell today as The Grey Falco romps home under a great ride from Lorcan Williams.
A well deserved win for his owners The Roaming Roosters. Enjoy the celebrations!! Long term BPR team member Matty Ingle heads to Chepstow Racecourse on Monday to take part in the Racing Welfare organised Racing Staff Race.
Chess Player has very kindly been lent to Matty for the race by owners John and Rachel Brodie. It is sure to be a competitive race with these two re-united, Matty broke in Chess Player when he first arrived to join our stable! Racing Welfare is racing's human welfare charity providing professional guidance and practical help to all racing people. The race, part of Racing Staff Week (- the industry's annual celebration of people who work in British horseracing) provides stable staff with the opportunity to experience a raceday ride as well as an important fundraiser for the charity. The race is at 1.40pm and we'll be on course cheering them home, hopefully in front! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and hearing about current foals, youngstock and plans for prospective matings you have in store. Exquisite sausage rolls & pastries by The Cotswold Guy Thanks to the MS Borders Racing Club for coming to visit today!
A real pleasure to show you around our Naunton Downs yard - weather turned it on & lunch at the Fitzdares Club rounded off the morning perfectly. “The MS Borders Racing Club was established in 2004 and is the brainchild of Rhona Elliot MBE who had to retire from being a professional trainer due to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. We are a fun and friendly syndicate with the main objective of having fun racing and also raising awareness of the MS Society UK & Scotland (our horses run in the MS Society’s colours).” LEARN MORE: https://www.inthepaddock.co.uk/.../ms-borders-racing-club/ Thank you for choosing us as part of your annual trip! It's a bittersweet Monday here at Naunton Downs as we say a fond farewell to the incredible Le Breiul.
