And We're Off!

The Jump Season is finally going up a gear and we are delighted that our winter runners are starting to come out over the next few weeks. This weekend provides the first meeting at Cheltenham of the season and we look forward to seeing a few of our horses back at 'the home of National Hunt racing.'

SKIDOOSH and the Pauling/Jacob combo made a sensational debut winning the bumper at Worcester on Wednesday. This horse is a homebred of Laurie and Alicia Strangman. He is out of SOUTHERN EXIT and the exciting news is there are more out of the family on the way! SKIDOOSH is a big strong horse and has been going well at home but it is always nice to see them produce on the track. He was fairly green at the beginning of the race. However, he showed his class and won well in the competitive bumper drawing well clear of 3rd with the second horse, Lisdoonvarna Lad, who looks a lovely type for my brother in law and is definitely one to watch in the future. We are looking forward to what is to come in the next few months from SKIDOOSH and we hope the future is bright!

On Thursday HIDDEN GLEN made it two from two in bumpers this season, winning in incredible style and showing everything we had hoped for from what we had seen at home. He was given a confident ride from the front by Daryl making all to win on debut. We are thrilled for Jake Launchbury who looks after HIDDEN GLEN and rides him every day. Jake can be seen above leading him back into the winner's enclosure, and in the below video cheering him on in the closing stages of the race. He seems to have everything you look for in a racehorse and we will keep him in bumpers for this season.
