The Open & Owner's Days
Last weekend we had our annual Owners Day on Sunday and for the first time we opened the doors to the public on Saturday.
The Open Day was a huge success and we welcomed over 400 people through the doors. We paraded a few of the better-known horses as well as the Grade 1 winners Barters Hill and Willoughby Court. We also paraded the new BPR Club horses Uncle Percy and Bardista which went down really well and I am delighted to see the syndicate taking shape rapidly. We all really enjoyed showing people around the yard and can only hope that everyone left as happy as they all seemed.
On Sunday it was our annual Owner's Day where we paraded the horses of the owners that could attend and had lunch afterwards. It was again great and it is always good to be able to put on an event for our very loyal and fantastic owner's to enjoy.
The weather was slightly trying at times but we avoided the worst of it and as always the effort behind the scenes from my wife, family (and support team) and staff is hugely appreciated.
Above: The big man is back! BARTERS HILL having his first canter in his return from injury. Great to see him being so enthusiastic about life.
Ben Pauling Racing Club
The Racing Club is really flying along now with both horses purchased in full training. Uncle Percy continues to look great on the gallop and is working well. He will be ready for his handicap debut in a month from now. Bardista is our latest purchase who is stereotypical of the old-fashioned chaser. He was made to jump fences and is looking better every day. He was bought early in the summer after he was 3rd in his only Irish Point and can only improve as he was very weak last season. They are two very different horses but should complement each other well. I am looking forward to an exciting debut season with the Ben Pauling Racing Club members.
