Carlos Du Fruitier started off his career under rules in great style winning the bumper at Warwick last week. He was given a positive ride by David Bass and he drew well clear from the home bend to win impressively. He seems a smart little horse who hit the bar a few times in Point-to-Points when he was trained in Ireland. He has come out of the race very well and will be aimed at another bumper under a penalty in the near future. He certainly gave his enthusiastic owners The Sandbaggers Club something to shout about and should give them plenty more exciting days in the future.
Last weekend our very own Assistant Trainer, Mary Vestey, had her first runner as a Point-to-Point trainer. She trained an ex-chaser of her father's, Silver Roque to win the 2m4f Novice Riders race at eh Heythrop Hunt Club meeting at Cocklebarrow under a well-judged ride from Henry Moreshead. He jumped beautifully and traveled like the best horse in the race from the drop of the flag. There should be some very exciting days ahead for the horse and trainer!
Like many yards have had a quiet period of over the last few weeks and will pick up again in the weeks to come.
We do have some lovely horses ready to go in the next few days. They include Creep Desbois, Calva D'Honore, Pithivier, Ballyhenry, Two Swallows, Le Breuil, Leoncavallo, Imperial Bay, Nobuttaboy, Silver Hollow and Alpine Secret.
