Drumacoo delights at Huntingdon

Yesterday we were delighted with Drumacoo winning his first start over fences and it was also his first start for us, making his return to the track after a 412 day absence. We have always held this horse in high regard at home, as he is the most striking horse who most certainty has a lot of presence and shows plenty in his work. It has not been the smoothest of roads with Drumacoo and it was an achievement in itself for him to make it to a racecourse yesterday.

When he came to us in August he was recovering from an injury he sustained at the end of last season, so everything has been taken very slowly. He is a quirky horse at home, (which is why he ran in a hood yesterday) who can be quite flighty, Maurice Linehen does an absolutely fantastic job and rides him everyday at home so many thanks to all his prep work with this horse.

Drumacoo travelled and jumped supremely in the race proving he is as clever as they come over his fences and very athletic for such a big horse. He took a lead from the favourite, Fletchers Flyer (rated 140) and after the 15th fence went into the lead and drew clear ending up winning by 38 lengths. It was actually more than we could have ever had hoped for and had us all dreaming of Cheltenham with various quotes of 20-1 for the RSA flying around. It is a long way off and we will have to see how he comes out of his race before making any further plans, however he seems on good form this morning which is fantastic.

We were also very pleased with Newton Geronimo who looked to get his confidence back over hurdles, after falling over fences last time out. He seems fine this morning and will probably try his luck over and extended 2m but make more use of him as he was staying on all the way up the run in.

We only have a couple of entries next week and it will be fairly quiet over January for us, like most people. Most of the horses will be having an easier month as they have been pretty busy up until now and it is a long season to do without any breaks.

We have a few new in mates one of particular interest is Barters Hills full brother. He arrived a couple of days ago and is very similar in every way just not as tall. If he is half as good as his brother we will be delighted.

We still have a stunning Martiline 4yr old for sale as well as some very exciting shares, all information is on the website.
