A win for Cyrius!

Yesterday we were really thrilled to have Cyruis Moriviere win a competitive Novice Hurdle at Huntingdon. We thought he would run well as he has been in exceptional form at home, but as shown by his odds (20-1) winning was an added bonus! The Ferguson horse that he beat had high class bumper form and looks a nice horse but never managed to catch Cyrius. It is lovely to see a win for the Pilar P Partnership as for many of them this is their first horse and first winner- so a special day all round!

Last week was a quiet one on the runners front, we had Malibu Sun and Silvergrove who both ran really well at Sandown. Malibu was just touched off for second when staying on gallantly in a chase- his jumping was back to his best and he is a horse that battles all the way. Silvergrove, I am sure many of you heard about, jumped supremely well around Sandown and it was a seriously unlucky situation with Tom’s tree in his saddle snapping and resulting in unseating him after the last when he was in front. It was such a freak accident and heart breaking for us all, especially poor Tom. Thankfully both horse and rider are absolutely fine and live to fight another day.

This week we have plenty of entries; looking forward to Space Walker at Leicester on Wednesday in another handicap hurdle and hopefully he can go one better after his great 2nd at Warwick last time. On Friday we have entries at 3 meetings; A Hare Breath goes back to Cheltenham to try his luck in better company and hopefully prove once again his potential as a top class handicap hurdler, so fingers crossed, he has been in good order since his last run. It is unlikely we will be backing him at odds of 20-1 this time!
