Tom David, Assistant Trainer

Tom David, Assistant Trainer

Tom has worked in the racing industry since leaving school aged 16. He started as an amateur jockey to Charlie Longsdon before moving to Tim Vaughan to become his conditional rider. After a season there he decided to return to being an amateur and rode a large number of point-to-point and hunter chase winners, primarily for Sheila Crow. His most recent post was heading up Zara Phillips' pointing string for two years. He has been with us for 2 years now and he is a key member of the team, I value his opinion hugely and he has some very sound views.

Grace Logan, Secretary

Grace Logan, Secretary

Grace joined us from Billy Stud in Surrey. She has a strong equestrian background and learnt a lot from working in the breeding world but wants to get more involved in racing. She studied at Cirencester Agricultural University and has come to know the area well so she will fit right in here in the Cotswolds.

Eloise Quayle, Travelling head girl

Eloise Quayle, Travelling head girl

Eloise graduated from Newcastle University with a biology degree. She decided she wanted to persue her passion for racing so joined us a year and a half ago. She has been a fantastic asset to the team and last season took on the role of travelling head girl as she is incredibly efficient and reliable.

Dougie Gittins, Media Manager

Dougie Gittins, Media Manager

Dougie has taken on the role as our media manager, he studied Film, TV and Theatre before setting up his own small production company. His passion for both racing and media has brought him to where he is now and it will be great to be able to bring racehorse ownership into the modern day using film. Dougie has also set up a Ben Pauling Racing YouTube channel so it is easy for everyone to watch the season progress.

Nigel Hiskett, Feed man

Nigel Hiskett, Feed man

Nigel has a lifetime of experience in racing, there isn’t much he hasn’t seen or had to deal with. He started off in Newmarket at the age of 17. He moved to Stow on the Wold to work for the master David Nicholson in 1979. He Spent 12 years there and left in 1991.  During this period he rode professionally and even had winners for the Duke himself. He then left racing and became a postman for 15 years but came back to the sport and joined John Gallagher as his head lad, followed by some time working for Martin Keighley, Mark Rimell and Shaun Lycett. You can set your watch by him and he has the feeding down to a T.

Nick Whiteman

Nick Whiteman

Nick came to us having worked for Tim Vaughen, Keith Dalgleish and James Bethell. When he arrived with us he was eager to secure his Amateur license, which he has now got and had a few rides last season. Nick is a key member of the team who is also a handyman around the place!

Hannah Worgan

Hannah Worgan

Hannah joined us having worked for Paul Nichols and Jonjo O' Neil. She arrived with a wealth of experience and her standards are incredibly high. Her horses are always turned out to perfection and there is nothing on the yard that she won't ride. We are very lucky to have her and she is a huge part of our team.

Greg Walters

Greg Walters

Greg joined us at the beginning of this season. He has already been a huge help with the breakers and rides many of the tricky horses. He is a very quiet and natural horseman that will sit on anything in the yard and gets whatever he sits on going beautifully. Greg has ridden in point to points and is hoping to continue into next season with which we wish him lots of luck.

Jake Launchbury

Jake Launchbury

Jake joined us having previously worked for Mark Wall and David Bridegwater. Jake has ridden in plenty of point to points, including a few Hunter Chases. He is an excellent rider who we are very happy to have as part of our team.

Becky Buckley & Flo Wright

Becky Buckley & Flo Wright

Becky and Flo joined us to straight from the Northern Racing College. They lived together at College and came as a pair to the yard. Their enthusiasm for racing is seen everyday and their willingness to learn is fantastic.

Joe Golding, Yard Man

Joe moved to us recently from Marco Botti’s. Since he joined us his work ethic and graft has been fantastic. He has many racing links from before coming here and has loved the sport for a long time. He is always looking for extra work to do and improvements to be made on the yard. He is a great addition to the team.

Annabelle Orenz

Annabelle Orenz

Annabelle has ridden out for many different trainers, including Jonjo O’Neil. She began riding out for us at the beginning of the 2016/17 season and her skills in the saddle with all different manners of horses have no end. She is a fantastic judge of how they are going and if she says they will win they usually do!

Amber Cartlidge

Amber Cartlidge

Amber is at theCirencester Agricultural University, but still comes to ride out and give a hand when needed. She used to be full time in the yard and therefore knows the place very well. She is a great help always good fun to have around.

Katherine Robinson

Katherine Robinson

Katherine is a top class eventer who has her own yard not far from us. We are very lucky that she comes in most mornings to ride two lots. She is a beautiful rider whos knowledge and experience is invaluable.

Sophie Pauling

Sophie Pauling

Soph has been a huge support to Ben and is very much a part of the team. She nearly always accompanies Ben racing and gets on very well with everyone and particularly enjoys entertaining the owners. She is originally from the Scottish borders and her family is steeped in hunting and racing history. Sophie still tries to hunt at least one day a week with the Heythrop and keeps her hunter at the yard!
